LGBTQI+ Creative Writing Project

LGBT History Month is running throughout February, this year’s theme “The Arc is Long” is inspired by a Martin Luther King quote: ‘The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice. ‘ To celebrate this important month, join us and get involved with a creative writing project running all month.

We’re asking for pieces of writing to be sent in throughout February, these can be in any form that you wish, be it storytelling, poetry, spoken word or song lyrics. Your chosen words can be original or works from other artists / authors. We’re looking for pieces to be submitted that celebrate LGBT History Month, here are a few topic suggestions to think about – gender, identity, discrimination, history and community.

Entries will be open for submission until Friday 25th February, please send these here – changeswords@changesbristol.org

We are planning to hold an in-person social and reading in Bristol in early March, details TBC. You are welcome to share your creative writing pieces at this event, or a member of the Changes Bristol team would be happy to read / speak on your behalf. This is an opportunity for a safe, inclusive space to speak freely and without judgement.
